Racing Incident Report

LUCKY MAN was slow to begin. From a wide gate, SOUTH CHINA NINETY failed to muster speed and was taken across behind runners. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, MILLION CHASE got its head on the side and hung out away from LIVERPOOLTHEGREAT. Making the Home Turn, LUCKY MAN and LUCKY PACKET raced tight. In the run to the winning post, MASTER ABLE improved close to the heels of LUCKY PACKET and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race. Close to the winning post, WITHALLMYHEART, which was finishing the race off, was steadied when awkwardly placed between DOUCAI and LUCKY PACKET. Because of this, WITHALLMYHEART was not ridden out to the end of the race. Apprentice K W Tsui (MASTER ABLE) said he was aware the horse has a soft mouth and he was instructed to have the horse which begins well travel around midfield if possible. He said when the gates opened MASTER ABLE began well, he had a hold of the horse's mane as well as the reins. He said when MASTER ABLE jumped, it jumped into the bit, consequently got its head up on a number of occasions and when it then became balanced he was at the rear of the field. Apprentice Tsui was told to ensure he allowed his mounts sufficient rein to jump cleanly. LUCKY MAN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SOUTH CHINA NINETY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY MAN and SOUTH CHINA NINETY after the race did not show any significant findings. OPERA MAGIC and OKEYDOKEY were sent for sampling.
