Racing Incident Report
PERFECT FEELING was slow into stride. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, LUCKY MONEY was steadied away from the heels of LIAOBUQI which was momentarily crowded for room inside FREEBIRD. For the major part of the race, FREEBIRD hung out and near the 600 Metres was steadied away from the heels of KINGSTON WINNER which at this time shifted to the outside of FRIENDSHIP. Shortly after this, FLYING BISHOP was steadied when KINGSTON WINNER got its head on the side and shifted back in. Near the 500 Metres, LUCKY MONEY was steadied when crowded for room between FLYING BISHOP and FREEBIRD which commenced to give ground. Making the Home Turn, SEASONS TREASURE was crowded for room inside LUCKY MONEY. From on straightening until the 150 Metres, GALLANT FALCON was not able to obtain clear running. At the 200 Metres, KINGSTON WINNER, which was commencing to give ground, was bumped by FLYING BISHOP which shifted to the inside of FRIENDSHIP which was giving ground. Over the concluding stages, SOLAR hung in. C K Tong (FLYING BISHOP) reported inside the 100 Metres his whip broke. When questioned regarding the poor performance of LUCKY MONEY B Prebble said the horse began well, but then was reluctant to maintain a forward position and near the 1500 Metres when LIAOBUQI shifted across and caused some crowding, LUCKY MONEY then failed to maintain its position inside that horse. He said at the 1300 Metres he used the whip on LUCKY MONEY and the horse then travelled satisfactorily. He did say in his opinion LUCKY MONEY was not suited by the manner in which the race was run and that in his opinion the horse was better suited on a track which had some cushion in it. Apprentice K L Chui (UNIQUE SPEED) explained the horse did not feel comfortable on tonight's track surface. He aid UNIQUE SPEED travelled only fairly and commenced to give ground on straightening. LUCKY MONEY and UNIQUE SPEED were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY MONEY and UNIQUE SPEED after the race did not show any significant findings. SYDNEY EXPRESS and PERFECT FEELING were sent for sampling.
