Racing Incident Report
MIRACLE FORTUNE began awkwardly and lost ground. PROFITING CHAMPION began awkwardly. On jumping, DASHING THUNDER was bumped by AMAZING ME which itself shifted ground when bumped by JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE. From a wide barrier, in the early stages, ASIAN CITRUS was taken across behind runners. Near the 900 Metres, PROFITING CHAMPION was steadied when crowded for room inside ENTHUSED which was carried in slightly by HIGH POINT (S K Sit) which shifted ground when not clear. GRAND STORE, which was racing inside PROFITING CHAMPION, was inconvenienced in consequence. S K Sit was told to exercise greater care. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, ROYAL DOMAIN hung out. At the 700 Metres, MIRACLE FORTUNE was steadied and shifted to the outside of INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS. Making the Home Turn, FORTE hung out and then in the Straight hung in badly. Near the 100 Metres, GRAND STORE was steadied when disappointed for running between RICH DRAGON and PROFITING CHAMPION which commenced to give ground. The performance of ASIAN CITRUS, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ASIAN CITRUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. B Prebble (PROFITING CHAMPION) explained after beginning well he allowed his mount to maintain a forward position but did not ride it along to go near the lead as in his opinion PROFITING CHAMPION would have over-raced and consequently would not have been able to finish the race off. He said PROFITING CHAMPION obtained a position inside ENTHUSED, however, as a result of crowding making the turn at the 900 Metres, he was not able to maintain that position and as a consequence travelled further back than he had hoped. GRAND STORE and FORTE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GRAND STORE after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, FORTE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FORTE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HIGH POINT and DASHING THUNDER were sent for sampling.
