Racing Incident Report

RED WINE HONEY was slow to begin. In the early stages, GALAXY DANCER proved difficult to settle. Prior to straightening, TRAVEL LEADER was steadied and shifted to the outside of GALAXY DANCER to obtain clear running. As a consequence of this, ELEPHANT DANCE was bumped and carried wider. For some distance after straightening, SUPER SURPRISE was held up and unable to obtain clear running and after the 400 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between PALETTE THE BEST and RED WINE HONEY (S K Sit) which shifted out. S K Sit was advised to exercise greater care. Near the 300 Metres, EVER KING, which had been experiencing some difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted to the outside of FRONTIER to continue going forward. At the 300 Metres, ELEPHANT DANCE, which was giving ground, was crowded for room between PALETTE THE BEST and SAMBUOYANT which shifted in. For the major part of the race, ELEPHANT DANCE travelled wide and without cover and in the middle stages hung out. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of D Beadman (EVER KING), 5th placegetter, did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out right to the winning post where circumstances permit. SAMBUOYANT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SAMBUOYANT after the race did not show any significant findings. PALETTE THE BEST and RED WINE HONEY were sent for sampling.
