Racing Incident Report

ALWAYS SOMETHING was withdrawn prior to Race 3 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot). Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS SOMETHING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLASSA, which lost its right front plate in the Parade Ring, was replated and after the necessary examination was found suitable to race. Shortly after the start, HAPPY MASTER was crowded for room between CLASSA and ATHENIUM, both of which shifted ground. Near the 350 Metres, CENTRAL ROLE was steadied away from the heels of MINGS’ HERO when disappointed for running between that horse and NAPA II. H W Lai (CLASSA) reported that his mount was brushed on a number of occasions by TELECOM GOGO in the middle stages and, in his opinion, CLASSA’s failure to finish off the race was attributable to resenting racing tight inside TELECOM GOGO. A veterinary inspection of CLASSA after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TOY STORY at the request of Trainer D E Ferraris after the race did not show any significant findings. NAPA II and MY GOAL were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ATHENIUM had bled from both nostrils. <4/1/2010 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that SOUTH BREEZE was found to have a severe left front suspensory ligament injury on day after race. Before being allowed to race again, SOUTH BREEZE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
