Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, BURGUNDY MAC became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, BURGUNDY MAC will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From a wide barrier, JUN QI was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1200 Metres, VIVA DOLPHIN proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Passing the 1100 Metres, KEEN WONGCHOY got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BIG PROFIT. Approaching the 800 Metres, REAL SUPREME was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between DOUBLE DRAGON and MING HOI TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. When this happened, BIG PROFIT improved of its own accord to be racing to the inside of the heels of REAL SUPREME. REAL SUPREME then raced in restricted room for some distance after this between DOUBLE DRAGON and MING HOI TREASURE. Then near the 600 Metres, REAL SUPREME was checked when crowded for room between MING HOI TREASURE and BIG PROFIT which, when proving difficult to settle and making contact with MASTER GUNNER on a number of occasions, shifted out. KEEN WONGCHOY, which was following REAL SUPREME, was checked in consequence and FOREST STAR, which was following MASTER GUNNER, was hampered. Approaching the 100 Metres, MASTER GUNNER shifted to the inside of WIN A DOZEN when held up for clear running. When questioned, B Prebble stated that behind the barriers COMMON GOAL was very fractious and got its head down on a number of occasions whilst rearing on others. He said COMMON GOAL spun around and because of this is he was dislodged from the horse. He said after being loaded COMMON GOAL again became very fractious and as the start was effected bounded in the air and because of this lost a considerable amount of ground. He said in the Straight when placed under pressure COMMON GOAL hung out badly and for this reason he was obliged to change his whip into his left hand in an endeavour to assist the horse in racing more genuinely. A veterinary inspection of COMMON GOAL after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of COMMON GOAL was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, COMMON GOAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COMMON GOAL, FOREST STAR and WIN A DOZEN were sent for sampling.
