Racing Incident Report

SUPERIOR WARRIOR was withdrawn on 20.1.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetance) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY TYCOON (C W Wong). Before being allowed to race again, SUPERIOR WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, YI HAO MU became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, YI HAO MU will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. MY WHISKY blundered at the start. FIERY RAIDER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, DIAMOND ANGEL shifted out and bumped YI HAO MU. From a wide barrier, SHANGHAI PIONEER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the first turn after the 700 Metres, HAPPY INDEX got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in HINYUEN PALADIN being taken wider. After shifting in and making contact with the running rail near the 650 Metres, DIAMOND ANGEL got its head on the side and hung out across the heels of RAINBOW SEEKER near the 600 Metres, resulting in DIAMOND ANGEL losing ground. Near the 500 Metres, FIERY RAIDER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HINYUEN PALADIN. In the early part of the Straight and again near the 200 Metres, DELISH raced tight inside HAPPY INDEX. After the race, B Prebble reported that in the middle stages FIERY RAIDER got its head on the side and hung out when racing wide. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DELISH had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY TYCOON after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, LUCKY TYCOON will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of FIERY RAIDER after the race did not show any significant findings. FIERY RAIDER, HAPPY INDEX and MY WHISKY were sent for sampling.
