Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, it was noted that XI YING MEN had lost its right front plate. This plate was refitted. XI YING MEN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Also on arrival at the Start, AMEDEO, which had been reported to have struck a rail when proceeding to the barriers, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it sustained a superficial abrasion to the left front cannon. After being trotted up, AMEDEO was found to be suitable to race. AMEDEO and XI YING MEN began awkwardly. ULTIMATE WINNERS shifted out at the start, resulting in BOULD MOVER being taken out onto GIFT IS GIFT. After the 400 Metres, BEAR HERO (N Callan) got its head on the side and hung in under pressure, resulting in AMEDEO being crowded for room near the 300 Metres inside XI YING MEN which became unbalanced after being bumped by AMEDEO. N Callan was severely reprimanded and told that in similar circumstances he must make more of an endeavour than he did on this occasion to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. After this, BEAR HERO continued to shift ground inwards under pressure. A veterinary inspection of BOULD MOVER after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a mild abrasion to the inside of the left hind cannon. A veterinary inspection of ULTIMATE WINNERS after the race did not show any significant findings. BEAR HERO and KEEN TACTICS were sent for sampling.
