Racing Incident Report

AMBITIOUS TREASURE was withdrawn on 15.4.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NOBLE DE BEST (K Teetan). Before being allowed to race again, AMBITIOUS TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HEAR THE ROAR began only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between DILIGENT III and GLAMOROUS RYDER which was taken in slightly by REAL GENERAL.
BETTER ANNOUNCE began awkwardly.
From the outside barrier, KING OF PATCH was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, STEP HIGH and REAL GENERAL raced tight inside COOL BEAN which was momentarily taken in by BEAUTY KING. A short distance after this, COOL BEAN was again steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY KING (J Moreira) which shifted in. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care.
Throughout the race, GLAMOROUS RYDER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
After the race, Z Purton reported that REAL GENERAL did not feel comfortable in its action in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of REAL GENERAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of HEAR THE ROAR immediately following the race revealed the horse to be a “roarer” which had previously been reported.
STEP HIGH and BEAUTY KING were sent for sampling.
