Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, it was noted that YOURTHEWONFORME had lost its right front plate. After this plate was refitted, YOURTHEWONFORME was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
GENTRY, which was restless in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
YOURTHEWONFORME began only fairly.
From wide barriers, YOURTHEWONFORME and MIGHTY BOY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
The Stewards inquired into an incident approaching the winning post on the first occasion where GENTRY lost ground when crowded for room inside SUPREME STORM. It was established that after missing the start, GENTRY was ridden along and made ground quickly to be racing inside the heels of SUPREME STORM (M L Yeung) which was being steadied and had commenced to shift in to take up a trailing position behind POLYMER LUCK. It was further established that when M L Yeung became aware that GENTRY had improved to be racing inside his mount, he was initially unable to shift out any further to afford GENTRY more comfortable racing room as MONEY WINNER was racing tight to his outside. A short distance later, when MONEY WINNER was shifted out to allow more racing room to SUPREME STORM, SUPREME STORM then shifted in and crowded GENTRY before being corrected. PLAY IT, which was following, was hampered in consequence. Whilst acknowledging that he was initially unable to promptly relieve the tightening to GENTRY, the Stewards nonetheless severely reprimanded M L Yeung for failing to make a greater effort to shift out away from GENTRY once MONEY WINNER had been directed out.
Approaching the 800 Metres, DARING HEART was inconvenienced when taken wider by MONEY WINNER which shifted out from behind DESTIN to take up a trailing position behind CHARITY WINGS.
Rounding the Home Turn, DESTIN was held up and unable to improve when racing behind GAINFULJET which came under pressure. After passing the 300 Metres, DESTIN was then shifted to the inside of GAINFULJET and POLYMER LUCK to obtain a run.
Near the 150 Metres, K Teetan (DARING HEART) momentarily dropped his right rein.
Throughout the race, CHARITY WINGS travelled wide and without cover.
Following the race, O Doleuze reported that PLAY IT was not suited by the modest tempo throughout the early and middle stages of the race. A veterinary inspection of PLAY IT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of DARING HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DON’T MISS and DESTIN were sent for sampling.
