Racing Incident Report
BULLISH GLORY and KUNGFUMASTER PANDA began awkwardly.
PERFECT TO PLAY was crowded for room on jumping between GIANT TURTLE and JOLLY FOREVER which shifted out. After this, PERFECT TO PLAY was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
SALTO OLIMPICO shifted out at the start and bumped EXALTATION.
After passing the winning post on the first occasion, KUNGFUMASTER PANDA got its head up when being checked away from the heels of GALA NIGHT which was being steadied to obtain cover behind CROWN AVENUE.
When the pace of the race slackened after the 1400 Metres, VICTORIOUS SEEKER commenced to travel very keenly and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of CHEERFUL STAR, resulting in GOOD DAYS, which had shifted out away from the heels of VICTORIOUS SEEKER, being taken wider. GOOD DAYS and VICTORIOUS SEEKER then raced tight approaching and passing the 1200 Metres.
SALTO OLIMPICO travelled wide and without cover until near the 1100 Metres at which stage VICTORIOUS SEEKER was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 1000 Metres, CHEERFUL STAR raced tight inside PERFECT TO PLAY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from GOOD DAYS.
Approaching the 800 Metres, PERFECT TO PLAY raced tight between GOOD DAYS and JOLLY FOREVER which got its head on the side and lay out after being bumped on the hindquarters by PERFECT TO PLAY.
Passing the 800 Metres, GALA NIGHT was awkwardly placed behind MISTER MONTE.
Near the 750 Metres, EXALTATION got its head up when being checked away from the heels of JOLLY FOREVER. KUNGFUMASTER PANDA was inconvenienced in consequence.
After the 600 Metres, CHEERFUL STAR raced in restricted room between BULLISH GLORY and PERFECT TO PLAY which attempted to shift out away from the heels of GOOD DAYS.
Approaching the 300 Metres, MISTER MONTE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SALTO OLIMPICO. GALA NIGHT, which was following MISTER MONTE, was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
Approaching the 200 Metres, GALA NIGHT was shifted in away from the heels of MISTER MONTE which was again awkwardly placed inside the heels of SALTO OLIMPICO.
When questioned, Apprentice K H Chan stated that he was instructed to lead on CROWN AVENUE if possible. He said it was anticipated that MISTER MONTE would take up a forward position and he was asked to lead that horse if possible or he could race outside MISTER MONTE. He said passing the winning post on the first occasion MISTER MONTE had cleared CROWN AVENUE to be racing on the rail and he rode his mount along to consolidate his position outside that horse rather than allow GIANT TURTLE to cross as that horse had SALTO OLIMPICO racing to its outside. He said he continued to ride his mount along after the 1700 Metres to clear MISTER MONTE so that GIANT TURTLE would be required to race to his outside rather than heading his mount which may have resulted in CROWN AVENUE having to take a trailing position.
A veterinary inspection of GALA NIGHT, KINGFUMASTER PANDA, GIANT TURTLE, CROWN AVENUE and EXALTATION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GIANT TURTLE, BULLISH GLORY and MISTER MONTE were sent for sampling.
<22/6/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>GALA NIGHT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. GALA NIGHT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Moore this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be mildly lame in its left front leg and sore in its left front tendon. Before being allowed to race again, GALA NIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
