Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, K H Chan expressed concern regarding the action of GOOD VIEW CLARICO. GOOD VIEW CLARICO was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
SEIZING THE MOMENT began only fairly.
SPONTANEOUS was bumped on jumping by MOERAKI (H T Mo) which began awkwardly and was then taken out by WE THE SOUTH. In this incident, H T Mo’s left foot momentarily slipped out of the stirrup iron.
BRILLIANT FORTUNE shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced GINSON. Then from the outside barrier, GINSON was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 900 Metres, MOERAKI momentarily raced tight between SEIZING THE MOMENT and SPONTANEOUS which shifted in away from the heels of ASTRO KING.
Making the turn near the 550 Metres, ASTRO KING was shifted out away from the heels of GINSON (B Shinn) which shifted in when not properly clear. When ASTRO KING shifted out, SPONTANEOUS, which was following, was inconvenienced. B Shinn was advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. After this, ASTRO KING got its head on the side and lay out.
Passing the 175 Metres, MOERAKI got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly under pressure.
Close to the finishing line, SEIZING THE MOMENT raced tight inside BRILLIANT FORTUNE.
A veterinary inspection of GINSON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WE THE SOUTH and BRILLIANT FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
