Racing Incident Report
As the start was effected, FORTE began very awkwardly, got its head up and then reared, resulting in FORTE losing ground. After this, from a wide barrier, FORTE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Also from the outside barriers, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE and TORONADO PHANTOM were steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.
Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, REWARDING TOGETHER was bumped by CALL ME TEDDY which shifted in away from the heels of STAR BRITE. After this, CALL ME TEDDY was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 900 Metres, LYRICAL MOTION raced tight inside REWARDING TOGETHER which was taken in by CALL ME TEDDY which was then directed out to relieve the crowding.
Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FORTE became badly unbalanced and lost ground when momentarily crowded for room inside CALIFORNIA REDWOOD which got its head on the side and lay in when very awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIND N GRASS which at this time was racing tight outside SKY FOREVER. CALIFORNIA REDWOOD was then immediately shifted out to relieve the crowding to FORTE. In this incident, FORTE brushed the running rail.
Approaching the 200 Metres, SKY FOREVER and REWARDING TOGETHER brushed due to both horses shifting ground. Then passing the 150 Metres, REWARDING TOGETHER shifted in and inconvenienced SKY FOREVER.
Also approaching the 200 Metres, STAR BRITE got its head on the side and lay out away from LYRICAL MOTION.
A veterinary inspection of TORONADO PHANTOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REWARDING TOGETHER and SKY FOREVER were sent for sampling.
