Racing Incident Report

PEAK TO PEAK jumped awkwardly.
TURF BRILLIANT and LEISURE AND GOLD bumped at the start.
From an outside barrier, YOUNG SPARKLE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
POLYMER GLORIOUS raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 500 Metres, MEDIC ELITE was eased when crowded between CHIRON and THIS IS CHARISMA which shifted out.
Near the 450 Metres, when being shifted to the outside, PEAK TO PEAK became awkwardly placed on the heels of TURF BRILLIANT which was giving ground. As a result, PEAK TO PEAK then shifted out and made contact with POLYMER GLORIOUS.
For some distance near the 250 Metres, SMART BEAUTY was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of LEISURE AND GOLD.
Over the final 150 Metres, STAR OF GLORY lay out and as a consequence could not be fully tested to the finish of the event.
GENERAL WINNER lay in under pressure in the Straight.
CHIRON lay in in the Straight.
TURF BRILLIANT raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned, C Y Ho (MEDIC ELITE) stated that as the start was effected, he was in the process of receiving some assistance from the starting gate handlers and as a consequence MEDIC ELITE was slow to begin, but then was crowded by THIS IS CHARISMA which also was slow to begin and then shifted out abruptly. He added as a result he had to make some use of his mount in the early stages to obtain a position behind midfield and after being placed under pressure in the Straight MEDIC ELITE initially responded to his riding. He further added that due to the use his mount was required to make during the early stages, it was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection of MEDIC ELITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
