Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 7 | SAMARKAND (H070) | Near the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded by STURDY RUBY which was taken in by KILLER INSTINCT (C Y Ho) which shifted in when not clear. C Y Ho was reprimanded. Near the 400 Metres was held up behind KILLER INSTINCT. When questioned regarding the slow pace set in the early stages, K H Chan stated that he was instructed to lead on his mount but not to ride along to do so as SAMARKAND has an inclination to race keenly. He said after obtaining the lead, SAMARKAND settled well and although he was aware the pace of the event was slow, he was reluctant to make any use of his mount to set a faster pace so as to avoid SAMARKAND over-racing. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 4 | KILLER INSTINCT (G020) | Near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from DURHAM STAR and was shifted out to commence a forward move. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 5 | STURDY RUBY (H207) | Lay out in the Home Straight. |
| 10 | KYRUS UNICORN (D267) | From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from FORTUNE PRESIDENT. |
| 1 | PEGASUS GENERAL (G189) | Taken wider near the 1000 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. |
| 12 | ASIAN ONE (E400) | Slow to begin. |
| 11 | RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164) | From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field due to the slow early pace of the event. |
| 2 | DURHAM STAR (E082) | After the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from STURDY RUBY due to the slow pace. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 6 | WIN WIN FIGHTER (E347) | After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount was not suited by the slow early pace and in hindsight he would have been better suited holding a more forward position due to the slow early pace. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 9 | SUPER ELITE (H247) | No report. |
| 8 | FORTUNE PRESIDENT (G054) | From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Due to the slow pace was checked passing the 1100 Metres when crowded between RUNNING AHEAD and WIN WIN FIGHTER which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 3 | RUNNING AHEAD (G313) | Due to the slow pace over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 1000 Metres ran out across PEGASUS GENERAL and was checked. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
