After the race, H Bowman stated that at the start his mount jumped a little awkwardly which resulted in him becoming unbalanced in the saddle when his reins slipped and E UNIVERSE settling further back in the field in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
