Racing Incident Report

1 8 VICTORY MOMENTS (H142) When questioned regarding his mount racing in a more forward position today, M Chadwick stated that VICTORY MOMENTS, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface, had performed well in barrier trials when ridden in a forward position. He said as a result and due to the horse being a "roarer”, he was asked to allow VICTORY MOMENTS to take up a forward position but only where it was comfortable to ensure that it relaxed during the event. He added that whilst VICTORY MOMENTS was caught wide and without cover for the majority of the event, it travelled comfortably in that position and as a result was able to go on to win the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 6 GOOD BUDDY (E097) From the 700 Metres raced wide and without cover. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 SMOKEY BEAR (E126) No report.
4 4 TORONADO PHANTOM (E300) Bumped at the start. From the 300 Metres to the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
5 7 SKY FOREVER (E414) Jumped only fairly and was bumped by SPORTS LEGEND. Approaching the 100 Metres became held up behind MARK THE MOMENT and was then shifted to that runner’s inside to secure clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 10 MARK THE MOMENT (H088) Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. <19/2/2024 Additional Veterinary Reports> The Veterinary Surgeon reported that MARK THE MOMENT was found to be lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, MARK THE MOMENT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 12 SPORTS LEGEND (H456) Bumped at the start.
8 5 BABY CRYSTAL (H081) After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount over-raced badly throughout the early and middle stages and as a result did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 1 ARMOUR EAGLE (G093) No report.
10 9 CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051) No report.
11 11 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 2 GOLDENFIELD (H473) After the race, K De Melo expressed concern with his mount’s action. The performance of GOLDENFIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDENFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
