Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 4 | MASTER OF ALL (H177) | Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 13 | GENERAL WINNER (E376) | Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 8 | PERFECT PEACH (E488) | Shortly after the start was bumped by ALWAYS AWESOME which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 2 | JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295) | When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason why his mount became held up behind BEAT HOLLOW near the 150 Metres, M F Poon stated that his initial intention was to take a run to the inside of BEAT HOLLOW when that runner shifted out near the 250 Metres. He said when BEAT HOLLOW shifted back in approaching the 200 Metres and the run closed, he then contemplated shifting to the outside of BEAT HOLLOW to obtain clear running. He added when NOBLE WIN was positioned to his outside, he was unable to shift to BEAT HOLLOW’s outside and as a result was steadied away from the heels of BEAT HOLLOW for some distance thereafter. He further stated that over the final 100 Metres when BEAT HOLLOW shifted out, JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP obtained clear running and finished the race off well. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Poon were reasonable in the circumstances. |
| 3 | NOBLE WIN (H195) | Jumped only fairly. |
| 6 | BEAT HOLLOW (G414) | No report. |
| 10 | HO HO STAR (H291) | Approaching the 250 Metres was bumped by TSUEN WAN GLORY which shifted out and away from DAILY TROPHY. |
| 5 | RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164) | Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. |
| 14 | FORTUNE MASTER (D371) | Crowded at the start by GENERAL WINNER which shifted in. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that FORTUNE MASTER was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE MASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 1 | ALWAYS AWESOME (H245) | Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. |
| 11 | TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) | Jumped awkwardly. After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily until the 500 Metres where it came under pressure and gave ground from that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 7 | DAILY TROPHY (H283) | Shifted out on jumping. On the Home Turn lay out and despite the efforts of its rider shifted out. After the race, C Y Ho stated that the intention was to find cover, but after his mount commenced well, he was obliged to allow it to take up a more forward position. |
| 12 | HERO ICON (G422) | On arrival at the Start, K De Melo expressed concern with the action of HERO ICON. HERO ICON was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After the race, K De Melo again expressed concern with his mount’s action in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, HERO ICON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. |
| 9 | MORE RICE (H271) | Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race, B Thompson reported that his mount lay out throughout the event and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
