After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount hung out making the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 9 | 5 | M UNICORN (G466) | After the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid SO WE JOY (A Atzeni) which shifted in. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. When questioned regarding the performance, C Y Ho stated that after jumping awkwardly, his mount settled back in the field. He said approaching the first turn M UNICORN was hampered when crowded by SO WE JOY but thereafter travelled only fairly. He added in the Home Straight M UNICORN made a respiratory noise and when not in a competitive position he eased it down over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, M UNICORN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. |
