Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 12 | STRATHPEFFER (H095) | Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 8 | YOUNG BRAVO (K178) | Slow to begin. When questioned regarding his riding tactics in the early part of the Home Straight, particularly between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres J Orman explained that at that time he was weighing up his options as to what run to take when held up behind STRATHPEFFER. He added that STRATHPEFFER commenced to shift out near the 300 Metres which allowed him to then improve to the inside of STRATHPEFFER and put his mount under his normal vigorous riding. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 6 | AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) | At declaration time, L Ferraris was declared as the rider of both AUDACIOUS PURSUIT and NEWBORN MIRACLE. It was established that L Ferraris had a firm commitment to ride AUDACIOUS PURSUIT. As such, the Stewards permitted A Atzeni to be substituted as the rider of NEWBORN MIRACLE. For this declaration error, Jockey Ferraris was fined $2,000. Jumped a little awkwardly. After leaving the 500 Metres was unable to improve its position before shifting out approaching the 350 Metres to obtain clear running and forced SMILING FALCON a little wider. Approaching the 200 Metres was bumped by ROMAN CROWN which shifted out. |
| 1 | FUN TOGETHER (H041) | When questioned regarding his riding tactics in the Home Straight, particularly from the 500 Metres to near the 300 Metres C L Chau explained that he was mindful that the horse was weighted with 133 lbs today, being first up from a spell and was obliged to race extremely wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added for this reason he was reluctant to put his mount under too much pressure in the early part of the Home Straight with a view to assisting it to finish the race off. He said, in his opinion, FUN TOGETHER would derive benefit from its first up run today. |
| 14 | PATCH OF WATCH (H476) | No report. |
| 9 | ROMAN CROWN (J456) | Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After passing the 300 Metres was held up behind FUN TOGETHER before shifting out approaching the 200 Metres to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped AUDACIOUS PURSUIT. |
| 11 | NEWBORN MIRACLE (J477) | No report. |
| 5 | ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) | No report. |
| 13 | BEAUTY MISSILE (H123) | After the event K Teetan reported that his mount had difficulty making ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 10 | SECOND TO NONE (H319) | After leaving the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. |
| 2 | SHINYU KOKOROE (K263) | No report. |
| 3 | RAGGA BOMB (K162) | Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. |
| 4 | SALUTE KING PRAWN (K393) | Slow to begin. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong reported that with his mount having its first start today it raced quite greenly and was very keen in the early and middle stages. |
| 7 | SMILING FALCON (K459) | A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SMILING FALCON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
