Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 14 LUCKY MAN (J315) Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind I EXCELLE. When improving to the inside of GALLANT EPOCH approaching the 300 Metres shifted in and made contact with I EXCELLE. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 ROBOT STAR (K559) On jumping shifted out and made contact with LUCKY RANGER. Approaching the 250 Metres was severely checked to avoid LET’S HAVE FUN. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 ILLUMINOUS (J170) Slow to begin. Approaching the 250 Metres shifted in and away from LUCKY RANGER and made contact with CALIFORNIA BAY.
4 12 DUKE OF ORANGE (K540) Jumped awkwardly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
5 5 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) Near the 250 Metres was hampered when it shifted out and away from ROBOT STAR.
6 1 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 10 GOR GOR (K104) Near the 250 Metres was checked to avoid CALIFORNIA BAY. K Teetan advised that he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages as connections felt it was advantageous to settle back in the field having regard to today’s racing pattern.
8 4 CLEANSWEEPER (K555) Near the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid ROBOT STAR.
9 6 KING CANNON (K543) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
10 7 LET'S HAVE FUN (L118) Jumped only fairly. Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. Approaching the 250 Metres became badly unbalanced when being severely checked to avoid LUCKY RANGER when that runner went amiss. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 11 I EXCELLE (K502) When giving ground was bumped by LUCKY MAN near the 300 Metres.
12 8 CALIFORNIA BAY (K364) When giving ground near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by ILLUMINOUS. Shortly after CALIFORNIA BAY was steadied to avoid GALLANT EPOCH (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted out whilst being ridden along. Apprentice Yuen was reprimanded and advised she must ensure that she stops riding and straightens her mounts whilst not clear. Z Purton stated that when unable to cross GALLANT EPOCH and I EXCELLE in the early stages his mount was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in its mouth.
13 13 QUICK MONEY (K377) Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid ROBOT STAR.
DNF 2 LUCKY RANGER (L071) Bumped at the start. Approaching the 250 Metres LUCKY RANGER sustained an injury to the left front leg and was immediately treated by Veterinarians. After it was determined that the injury was too severe to be saved, LUCKY RANGER was euthanised. L Ferraris was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and stood down from his subsequent riding engagements. Samples were taken from the horse.
