2 9 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) A Atzeni -- Raced in midfield between runners in early stages before improving to share second place from the 400m mark. Looked a winning chance passing the 200m mark but ultimately couldn't get to the leader who won by a length.
3 1 JAMES TAK (J007) E C W Wong -- Stumbled badly at the start before recovering & improving to second place. Was joined in second place near the 400m when 2L from the lead, finished well to be beaten just over a length.
4 11 CHILLI BABA (G339) Y L Chung B Raced in midfield when galloping between runners throughout when one horse off the stand side rail. Was 4L from the lead entering final section before closing well to halve deficit on the line.
5 8 LESS IS MORE (H406) H Bowman TT1 Steadied & raced rearward. Continued rearward when over 5L from the lead entering last section, shifted inwards passing 250m mark when making ground before closing eye-catchingly late despite drifting inwards.
6 14 TIMESTORM (G109) M F Poon B2 Raced in midfield along the stand side rail throughout. Was 4L from the lead entering last section, effectively maintained that deficit all the way to the line.
7 10 WINNING GOLD (H461) K De Melo H/TT Drifted back to race just off of midfield in early stages. Was ridden along from the 400m when 5L from lead before being held up for a clear run from the 300m to the 200m before finishing fairly thereafter, well beaten.
8 7 HERO WARRIOR (J006) C L Chau -- Drifted back to last place after the start. Was second last and hard ridden passing the 400m mark when nearly 7L from the lead before passing only one or two tiring rivals when being well beaten into midfield.
9 3 RED ELEGANCE (H241) B Avdulla H-/CP1/TT Bumped at the start before racing in midfield when closer to the center of the track. Was only 3.5L from the lead entering final section but weakened out poorly in the final 300m to be well beaten.
10 4 SPARKLING DOLPHIN (C332) H T Mo -- Drifted back to race worse than midfield when galloping in the clear nearer to the center of the track. Came under heavy pressure at half-way before weakening poorly to be well beaten.
11 12 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) H Bentley B/TT Raced in midfield between runners for the majority. Was just under 4L from the lead entering last section but was soon beaten & weakened out poorly in concluding stages to be long second last.
12 13 UNIVERSAL PURSUIT (H286) L Hewitson XB Bumped at the start before racing in midfield between runners nearer to the center of the track. Was only about 3L from the lead at half-way but emptied out near 300m & weakened very poorly in final stages to finish last.
