Racing Incident Report

Before the race, it was noted that the off side hind plate of HAPPY CENTURY had shifted. The horse was re-plated before being presented to run, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and in his opinion was deemed to be suitable to race. TAURUS jumped awkwardly, threw its head about, was then shifted across the field towards a position at the rear close to the rail. HUANGDI missed the start, was then inconvenienced when tightened between CHUTZPAH and HAPPY FOREVER, both of which shifted some ground. Just after the start, KIMBER and CRAIG'S PRIDE bumped. Shortly after this incident, CRAIG'S PRIDE lost its position when awkwardly placed between PROJECTSTAR and KIMBER. Near the 1200 Metres, KIMBER momentarily hung in away from REAL GOOD. As a consequence of this, CRAIG'S PRIDE became unbalanced, struck the running rail and was severely checked. MALAYAN PEARL and TAURUS, which were following, were checked in consequence. Some inconvenience was also caused to PERPETUAL HARMONY. Despite the significance of the crowding, the Stewards were of the opinion that it was accidental and no action was taken. After the 200 Metres, GREENMORE was shifted in when disappointed for running between HUANGDI and CHUTZPAH. GREENMORE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that MALAYAN PEARL had bled from both nostrils.
