Racing Incident Report
The start was delayed as WEALTHY TOGETHER was difficult to load, then in the early and middle stages proved very difficult to settle. The performance of the horse was considered to be unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WEALTHY TOGETHER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. On jumping, SATISFACTION SMILE stumbled and bumped the inside of its gate. KOWLOON'S BLESSING jumped awkwardly with its head up. DANZIG CONTINENTAL was slowly away. On pulling up, E Legrix was dislodged from BOTANY BAY. When questioned, E Saint-Martin (EXPRESS LOT) said today this was the first time he had ridden the horse and he had been asked by the Trainer to try and ride the horse in the run where it was comfortable and over the concluding stages to ride it for luck. He said EXPRESS LOT left the gates well, then he found himself in a position behind WEALTHY TOGETHER and tight inside KING'S GLAMOUR. He said he was aware he was in a bad position during the run and also it would have been preferable to have shifted from behind WEALTHY TOGETHER, but he was not able to do so. He said on the Home Turn he had to check rather severely when disappointed for running between ALY BABA and WEALTHY TOGETHER which was stopping, then in the Straight he was aware there was a run between ALY BABY and BAYVIEW KING, but BAYVIEW KING was weakening and shifting out, he considered the better option was to shift EXPRESS LOT to the extreme outside and ensure it had an uninterrupted run. E Saint-Martin was told on this occasion his ride had come under notice and the explanations submitted today were being recorded. LEAD TO WIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that BAYVIEW KING had bled from both nostrils.
