Racing Incident Report

MARSHALL SPIRIT jumped very awkwardly with its head up, shifted ground and bumped the inside of its gate. On jumping, NORTHERN FLYER and TEQUILA POP came together. FIBBER missed the start. Just after the 800 Metres, MARSHALL SPIRIT was steadied when tight inside SMARTLORD which itself was awkward just inside the heels of NORTHERN FLYER. About the 200 Metres, SMARTLORD became unbalanced when awkward between NORTHERN FLYER and COURAGE STAR which momentarily shifted out. R Fradd (FIBBER) said at recent times he had been riding the horse in some of its work, this work in his opinion was quite satisfactory and it was anticipated the horse could run well today. He said during the race and on pulling up FIBBER was making abnormal noises when breathing and the noises were of some significance. He said FIBBER was racing with a tongue tie for the first time today and following the race he did mention to the Trainer that the horse may not be suited with this type of gear. The explanations submitted by R Fradd were accepted, however, before the horse can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. FIBBER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
