Racing Incident Report
PRETTY DOUBLE was slow to begin. On jumping, OSCAR STAR was crowded for room between JOYFUL MASTER and TABBRIS, both of which shifted ground. Because of this, all three horses became unbalanced. Also on jumping, LIGHTING THE WORLD shifted in and bumped HONOURABLE. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, DO IT WELL was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between LIGHTING THE WORLD which became unbalanced and shifted out and MANIFEST which shifted in when only just clear. In the early and middle stages, TABBRIS, which was to be ridden quietly from a wide barrier, proved very difficult to settle and near the 800 Metres shifted in and bumped PRINCE GOLF, causing that horse to become unbalanced. At the 200 Metres, LIGHTING THE WORLD which when giving ground commenced to hang in and shifted in across the heels of ENGINEERING WONDER which was shifting out to go forward. R Fradd (HONOURABLE) said he rode the horse in track work last Monday and in his opinion this work was only fair. He said HONOURABLE enjoyed a good run in tonight's race behind the leaders, however, on straightening when placed under pressure failed to respond. He said after the race HONOURABLE appeared to be blowing quite hard. HONOURABLE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, HONOURABLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. ENGINEERING WONDER and MANIFEST were sent for sampling.
