Racing Incident Report
WIKI WIKI began awkwardly, resulting in A Marcus, its rider, becoming unbalanced. GOLDEN MILE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of GOLDEN PROMISE. HEALTHY HEART began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped VAN GOGH. HANDBAG FORTUNE and ARIGATO were slow to begin. In the early stages, CHEERFUL SUNSHINE raced greenly and was reluctant to hold its position. Also in the early stages, GOLDEN FARM hung in. Near the 900 Metres, HANDBAG FORTUNE was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRECIOUS MOMENTS. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, VAN GOGH, which had been racing wide, was carried wider and steadied away from the heels of HEALTHY HEART which was hanging out, then shifted further when bumped by WIKI WIKI which itself was hanging out. At the 400 Metres, WIKI WIKI was disappointed for running between GOLDEN PROMISE and inside HEALTHY HEART. When disappointed for running, WIKI WIKI was awkwardly placed on the heels of GOLDEN PROMISE and became unbalanced. Also at the 400 Metres, HANDBAG FORTUNE was checked and shifted out around PRECIOUS MOMENTS which was giving ground. Shortly after straightening, GOLDEN MILE, which was beginning to close the race off, was hampered when crowded for room inside PRECIOUS MOMENTS which shifted in when continuing to give ground. Approaching the 200 Metres when being shifted in to obtain clear running, HANDBAG FORTUNE hung in. After the 200 Metres, HEALTHY HEART hung in. Near the 100 Metres, ARIGATO was shifted to the outside of HEALTHY HEART to obtain clear running. Also near the 100 Metres, GOLDEN MILE, which was continuing to close the race off, was shifted out to avoid the heels of GOLDEN FARM which was giving ground. The performance of CHEERFUL SUNSHINE, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL SUNSHINE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRECIOUS MOMENTS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, PRECIOUS MOMENTS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had bled from both nostrils. HANDBAG FORTUNE, GRASS HOPPER and WIKI WIKI were sent for sampling.
