Racing Incident Report
On jumping, SPINNING CITY stumbled, then shifted out abruptly, causing GREEN CENTURY to be checked between that horse and PROGRESSING TIMES which got its head on the side and shifted in after being bumped by KING PALM. In this incident, G Mossé, the rider of SPINNING CITY, lost the use of his left side stirrup for a short distance. SUPER SPRINT, which had drawn outside GREEN CENTURY and had been slow to begin, was also checked in this incident. DENDRANTHEMA LOVE was slow to begin. In the early stages, KING PALM proved very difficult to settle and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. From the outside gate, ATHLETIC GOLD was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position on the rail but at the rear. Passing the 1200 Metres, PROGRESSING TIMES, which was proving difficult to settle, raced ungenerously and hung in. After the 1000 Metres, DENDRANTHEMA LOVE was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of STRONG SUN. After the 400 Metres, STRONG SUN was steadied when disappointed for running between KAISER'S PRIZE and KING PALM. For some distance after this, STRONG SUN remained held up and unable to obtain clear running on the inside of KING PALM and outside FIGHTING MASCOT. From before the 200 Metres until near the 100 Metres, GIANFANTI was held up and unable to obtain clear running on the inside of JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE. Near the 100 Metres, GIANFANTI was steadied and shifted to the outside of JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE into clear running. PROGRESSING TIMES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PROGRESSING TIMES after the race did not show any significant findings. TSZ WAN FORTUNE, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE and STRONG SUN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted FIGHTING MASCOT had sustained a minor wound to the left hind cannon.
