Racing Incident Report
LUCKY SIXER began awkwardly, resulting in Apprentice K W Tsui, its rider, becoming unbalanced. On jumping, STABLE MAIL and MIGHTY HUGO bumped. Near the 1400 Metres, MASTER GIGOLO was steadied to avoid the heels of JOYFUL SPIRIT (Apprentice H W Lai) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Lai was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. After the 800 Metres, FIRST AMONG EQUALS was steadied away from the heels of MIGHTY HUGO. On straightening, DR MORE was bumped by FIRST AMONG EQUALS which shifted out. Over the concluding stages, STABLE MAIL hung in. For the major part of the race, CELEBRATION raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. MASTER GIGOLO and CELEBRATION were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MASTER GIGOLO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER GIGOLO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CELEBRATION after the race did not show any significant findings. FIRST AMONG EQUALS, BOBO WIN and JOYFUL SPIRIT were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported JOYFUL SPIRIT had a cut to the right hind cannon.
