Racing Incident Report

HURRAY HURRAY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality). Before being allowed to race again, HURRAY HURRAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst being saddled, MARIBEAU shifted its right front plate. This plate was reset. MARIBEAU was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, DASHING THUNDER was crowded for room between CONQUEROR which shifted out and CALIFORNIA LUCK. ROMANTIC GREEN was slow to begin. CIRCULAR MACHINE began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and then despite being ridden along failed to muster speed and as a consequence travelled well back. In the early stages, MARIBEAU proved difficult to settle. At the 400 Metres, MERIDIAN PRIDE, which was having some difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the inside of CALIFORNIA LUCK. In the Straight, ROMANTIC GREEN hung in and proved difficult to ride and near the 50 Metres was steadied away from the heels of CALIFORNIA LUCK. Also in the Straight, GOOD PARTNER hung in. Throughout the race, BRILLIANT TREASURE travelled wide and without cover. The performance of SHY BALDY, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SHY BALDY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CIRCULAR MACHINE and SHY BALDY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CIRCULAR MACHINE and SHY BALDY after the race did not show any significant findings. MARIBEAU, ENCHANTED and MERIDIAN PRIDE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 10 April 2007)
CIRCULAR MACHINE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. CIRCULAR MACHINE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C S Shum this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front foot. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCULAR MACHINE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
