Racing Incident Report
BROWN BEAUTY was withdrawn on 18.12.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, BROWN BEAUTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When the gates opened, MASTER MASTER threw its head down, causing M W Leung, its rider, to become unbalanced and shortly afterwards be dislodged. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER MASTER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. In the early stages, G-ONE LEADING was taken across behind runners. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, DASH failed to muster speed and as a consequence travelled wide and without cover until the 1200 Metres. DASH then commenced to give ground approaching the 600 Metres. As a result, CITY SURFER, which was following, was carried back through the field. DASH was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DASH after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DASH, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, DASH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 1200 Metres, SAMBUOYANT was left racing wide and without cover, then after entering the Back Straight was ridden along to go forward. Near the 600 Metres, LAZY BUDDIES was steadied away from the heels of SHINING DAY which was shifted out away from the heels of CITY SURFER. Making the Home Turn, ELEPHANT DANCE was held up and unable to improve. LAZY BUDDIES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LAZY BUDDIES after the race did not show any significant findings. VINCERE, SAMBUOYANT and CHEERFUL HEART were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported CHEERFUL HEART had sustained abrasion wounds to its left hind cannon.
