Racing Incident Report

BRAVE KID blundered badly on jumping. LET ME FIGHT began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped THUMBS UP. GOOD BA BA also began awkwardly. PRESVIS was slow to begin. Near the 1500 Metres, SPARKLING POWER got its head up when being steadied. Approaching the 1200 Metres, SUNNY KING and SIGHT WINNER were crowded for room inside ABLE ONE (D Oliver) which shifted in. D Oliver then shifted out on ABLE ONE to relieve the tightening. D Oliver was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. D Oliver pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 1200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of SIGHT WINNER, resulting in SIGHT WINNER being taken across the rightful running of SUNNY KING, causing that horse to be checked. D Oliver was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 19 May 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the racemeeting to be held in South Australia on Sunday, 8 May 2011. After the 800 Metres, BRAVE KID was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 250 Metres, ROYAL BENCH, which was commencing to close off the race, was checked when disappointed for running between SPARKLING POWER and BRAVE KID which, when commencing to give ground, was steadied when racing in restricted room between XTENSION and MUSIR (C Soumillon) which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. C Soumillon was advised to ensure that he makes every effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. Near the 200 Metres, C Soumillon had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of D Beadman (XTENSION). Near the 150 Metres, ROYAL BENCH got its head up and lost ground when racing in restricted room between LET ME FIGHT and BRAVE KID which, when giving ground, got its head on the side and shifted out. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ROYAL BENCH and SPARKLING POWER had both lost their right front plates. A veterinary inspection of ABLE ONE after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of THUMBS UP after the race did not show any significant findings. XTENSION and LUCKY NINE were sent for sampling.
