Racing Incident Report

OCEAN ELITE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.
JUST NOT LISTENING began awkwardly and lost ground.
PEARLY TREASURE shifted out at the start and bumped REFINED TREASURE.
COMPLACENCY lost its right front plate after the 700 Metres.
Passing the 600 Metres, JUST NOT LISTENING was awkwardly placed behind HAPPY FORCE. Then for some distance after the 500 Metres, JUST NOT LISTENING, which was travelling keenly, was restrained away from the heels of HAPPY FORCE when again awkwardly placed behind that horse. JUST NOT LISTENING was then held up for clear running passing the 200 Metres.
Near the 275 Metres, COMPLACENCY, which was laying in, was checked away from the heels of LIVERBIRD STAR (K C Leung) which shifted out under pressure. K C Leung was advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that COMPLACENCY’s racing manners had contributed to this incident, nonetheless he was severely reprimanded for failing to make sufficient endeavour to prevent his mount from shifting ground.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY FORCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
A veterinary inspection of JUST NOT LISTENING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REFINED TREASURE and PEARLY TREASURE were sent for sampling.
