Racing Incident Report
When being led out onto the track, LOTUS FAVORITES became fractious, resulting in M F Poon being dislodged. LOTUS FAVORITES then proceeded for a short distance riderless and bumped with a lead horse. LOTUS FAVORITES was then quickly recaptured with M F Poon remounting after which the horse proceeded to the Start. On arrival at the barriers, LOTUS FAVORITES was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. M F Poon was found to be suitable to fulfil his riding engagement on LOTUS FAVORITES. After the race, M F Poon was examined by the Chief Medical Officer who said that he was not suitable to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.
LAPUTA began only fairly.
THE ANOMALY shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped SOLAR POWER, resulting in SOLAR POWER becoming badly unbalanced.
DECISIVE ACTION shifted out on jumping and bumped SPEED FAY FAY.
LOTUS FAVORITES began awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of XIANG YIN, resulting in LOTUS FAVORITES losing ground.
From wide barriers, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE and SPARKLING STAR were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
XIANG YIN was also shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the 1200 Metres, BEST FOR YOU was awkwardly placed behind BIG BROOK as that horse was steadied to obtain cover behind KING’S CAPITAL.
Approaching the 200 Metres, SPEED FAY FAY was momentarily crowded for room between KING’S CAPITAL which shifted in marginally and THE ANOMALY which, when improving into tight running between SPEED FAY FAY and SOLAR POWER, was taken out marginally by SOLAR POWER which shifted marginal ground.
Passing the 100 Metres, LAPUTA was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SPEED FAY FAY which was taken out by THE ANOMALY.
Close to the finishing line, LOTUS FAVORITES was steadied away from the heels of LAPUTA.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on THE ANOMALY at the request of Trainer K H Ting. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
A veterinary inspection of BIG BROOK and XIANG YIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KING’S CAPITAL and SOLAR POWER were sent for sampling.
<13/9/2021 Additional Veterinary Reports>BIG BROOK, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. BIG BROOK was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C Fownes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, BIG BROOK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
