Racing Incident Report

Apprentice Y T Cheng (ALL THE BEST) was fined $3,000 for changing his boots after weighing out [Rule 122(i)]. ARRIBA-ARRIBA jumped awkwardly with its head up, was then further inconvenienced when crowded by PRIVATE LIFE and PERFECT VICTORY, both of which shifted some ground. When the gates opened, TRAVELLER STAR bounded in the air. Just after the start, Apprentice Y T Cheng reached down and adjusted his right foot in the iron. About the 300 Metres, PRIVATE LIFE shifted out abruptly away from PAR AVION and made contact with AUTHORISED. Some inconvenience was caused to ARRIBA-ARRIBA and also to LUCKY GOAL which were following. Throughout the race, PRIVATE LIFE hung out. E Legrix (TRAVELLER STAR) explained the horse left the gates a little awkwardly, it was then his intention because of the pace in the race to try and ride TRAVELLER STAR just behind the pace. He said however TRAVELLER STAR raced too keenly in a position outside the leader, then rounding the turn and in the Straight today hung in which was unusual for TRAVELLER STAR. He was of the view the horse's poor run today was the speed it travelled in the early and middle stages. TRAVELLER STAR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
