Racing Incident Report
TIM'S TONIC was slowly away. On jumping, NATURAL CLASSIC and PROFIT MASTER bumped. INCA ROSE left the gates awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and bumped FLYING KNIGHT. SMILING UNION was slowly away and then hung in throughout. Rounding the turn and in the Straight, GLORIOUS WINNER hung in. When asked about the apparent disappointing run of FLYING KNIGHT, D Whyte said he had to make more use of the horse than he would have wished to maintain a forward position from a good gate, FLYING KNIGHT travelled satisfactorily in the run, but in the Straight failed to respond to his riding and was generally in his opinion disappointing. He said at its last start at Happy Valley FLYING KNIGHT had felt better in the run than it did today and he was of the view FLYING KNIGHT, which was today having its first race start on the All Weather Track, may not have handled the conditions. GOLD FLASK and FLYING KNIGHT were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
