Racing Incident Report
DRAGON WIN was withdrawn on 29.1.02 on veterinary grounds (stiff action in front) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter WINNING LUCK. Before racing again, DRAGON WIN will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. HOLLYWOOD STAR left the gates awkwardly, immediately steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position closer to the rail but towards the rear. On jumping, PRIDE AND FORTUNE and MISSION POSSIBLE bumped. STAR OF WAH YAN was slowly away. When the gates opened, DARLEY bounded in the air. For some distance near the 500 Metres, DARLEY was awkwardly placed between the hindquarters of LEAD TO WIN and INCA ROSE which was giving ground quickly. Shortly after this, TOP PRACTITIONER was steadied when awkward on the heels of INCA ROSE which was continuing to give ground. About the 400 Metres, LEAD TO WIN and HOLLYWOOD STAR bumped. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that CLEAR MASTER had sustained a laceration to the inside of its near front cannon.
