Racing Incident Report

CHIRAG and MULTICHAMP were slowly away. On jumping, ANIMATED PLAYTHING and DANZIG CONTINENTAL came together. Also on jumping, FAIRY TALE and CHEROKEE EXPRESS bumped. LUCKY CHARM left the gates very awkwardly with its head up and after this was steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position closer to the rail but at the rear. Then in the early stages LUCKY CHARM proved difficult to settle and several times got its head up when close to the heels of CHIRAG. Turning out of the Straight the first time, DANCING SOUND was momentarily steadied to avoid CHEROKEE EXPRESS. About the 400 Metres, CHIRAG became unbalanced when being checked to avoid the heels of DANZIG CONTINENTAL. For a short distance after the 400 Metres, BY INSTINCT was held up behind JAMIESON which was giving ground. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, DANZIG CONTINENTAL had trouble obtaining running between FAIRY TALE and DANCING SOUND. About 100 Metres out, ANIMATED PLAYTHING shifted out towards CHEROKEE EXPRESS which was giving ground and carried that horse close to the heels of FAIRY TALE. During this incident, CHEROKEE EXPRESS was accidentally hit under the jaw by the whip of E Legrix (ANIMATED PLAYTHING). JAMIESON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
