Racing Incident Report

PERFECT FUN was withdrawn on 1.2.02 on veterinary grounds (sore off fore fetlock) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SCENIC STAR (F Coetzee). Before racing again, PERFECT FUN will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. When the gates opened, ASIAN EXPRESS bounded in the air, shifted out and bumped SCENIC STAR which in turn shifted ground and made contact with HALO KING PRAWN. GALLANT HORSE left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted out and bumped INSIGHTOREALITY. AUTHORISED left the gates awkwardly, because of this S King was momentarily unbalanced in the saddle. Near the 500 Metres, SCENIC STAR was unbalanced when awkward on the heels of LUCKY LAD. Then in the Straight, SCENIC STAR hung in and near the winning post when making some ground was steadied and shifted in to avoid COMME D'HABITUDE which was shifting out. In the Straight, EXULTATION hung in badly. As a consequence of this, some inconvenience was caused to ACE OF PACE which was carried in and this in turn momentarily put COMME D'HABITUDE close to the heels of ELECTRONIC SEEKER, resulting in COMME D'HABITUDE being steadied. About the 300 Metres, HALO KING PRAWN was held up and then steadied when disappointed for running between GRAND FIGHTER and MARSHALL SPIRIT. HALO KING PRAWN then shifted out in an endeavour to find running between MARSHALL SPIRIT and ELECTRONIC SEEKER, was again disappointed, held up and then to find running HALO KING PRAWN was shifted out abruptly about 100 Metres from the line. Near the 300 Metres, GALLANT HORSE was steadied when disappointed for running between GRAND FIGHTER and CALIFORNIA KID which was giving ground. In an endeavour to obtain running, GALLANT HORSE was shifted to the outside of GRAND FIGHTER. When that horse momentarily shifted out, GALLANT HORSE lost its running, was steadied and shifted back to the inside of GRAND FIGHTER to find running and endeavour to go forward. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres and for a short distance after that, LUCKY LAD had trouble obtaining clear running. Near the winning post, MARSHALL SPIRIT was tightened for room between GRAND FIGHTER and LUCKY LAD, and ELECTRONIC SEEKER was steadied when HALO KING PRAWN shifted in slightly.
