Racing Incident Report

When being saddled, NATURAL ECHO kicked out in the saddling stalls. After arriving at the Start, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. ON THE TEE began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and caused crowding to TUSITALA which as a result was steadied. OPTIC FRIENDLY began awkwardly. Making the first turn, CHERISHED got its head up and shifted out, this caused some inconvenience to SUNDAY DELIGHT. In the early stages, LOK WAH TREASURE proved difficult to settle. At the 700 Metres, LOK WAH TREASURE was steadied and shifted out across the heels of WAIALAE WIN. Near the 600 Metres, LOK WAH TREASURE was again steadied and shifted out across the heels of FANTASTIC WIN to go forward. This caused TUSITALA to be carried wider. On straightening, WAIALAE WIN was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of SUNDAY DELIGHT. For some distance after straightening, SUPER COMBED had difficulty obtaining clear running behind BIEN BIEN HEART and to the outside of OPTIC FRIENDLY. Over the final 300 Metres, NATURAL ECHO hung out and near the 250 Metres shifted ground. As a result, BIEN BIEN HEART was steadied and shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, A Marcus (FANTASTIC WIN) momentarily dropped his off side rein. A Marcus said he had not been issued firm riding instructions for the horse, however, it was pointed out to him at the horse's most recent start from the outside gate it raced wide throughout. He said FANTASTIC WIN began only fairly and he elected to steady the horse and shift behind runners to find cover. He said after the 600 Metres when following THISTLEJADE he was aware LOK WAH TREASURE was improving around his outside, however, he elected to allow that horse to go forward as he did not wish to start his run that far from home. He said on straightening he was able to shift to the outside of THISTLEJADE and follow LOK WAH TREASURE and his mount then finished the race off well. BIEN BIEN HEART, TUSITALA and SUPER COMBED were sent for sampling.
