Racing Incident Report

GOLCONDA bounded in the air at the start. WINTROW was slow to begin. In the early stages, VISORHILL raced wide and without cover and was allowed to stride forward. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SELF FLIT (W M Lai), which had been showing a tendency to hang in, got its head on the side, shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to GRAND DELIGHT which as a result bumped the running rail, became unbalanced and lost its position. ELEGANT FASHION, which was following GRAND DELIGHT, was checked severely in consequence and WINTROW was also checked in consequence. W M Lai was severely reprimanded and told whilst the Stewards accepted he made some effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground at this time, in similar circumstances he would be expected to do more than he had on this occasion. In the Straight, WINTROW hung out. VISORHILL was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. GRAND DELIGHT and GOLCONDA were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of VISORHILL, GRAND DELIGHT and GOLCONDA after the race did not show any significant findings. SIROCCO and WEALTHY TREASURE were sent for sampling.
