Racing Incident Report

KINGSTON GLORY was slow to begin. ADD THE FUN was slow to begin, then after being hard ridden to make up lost ground in the early stages proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of UNIVERSAL PIONEER. Near the 1300 Metres, MAGNIFICENT was steadied away from the heels of PORTER RICKS. In the early stages, HARVEST proved very difficult to settle. In the middle stages, AURELIAN raced wide and without cover. At the 400 Metres, HARVEST was steadied when disappointed for running between PORTER RICKS and MAGNIFICENT (A Delpech) which itself was shifting out in an attempt to find a clear run. In the circumstances, A Delpech was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he is clear of other runners before shifting ground. Shortly after this incident, when endeavouring to improve between ADD THE FUN and PORTER RICKS where there was insufficient room, MAGNIFICENT was checked. In the incident, PORTER RICKS became unbalanced behind. Almost right on the winning post, AURELIAN got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the hindquarters of PLENTY OF HEART. Because of this, AURELIAN was not ridden out to the post as it normally would be. S Dye (BEST FOR ALL), which was having its first start for the new stable today, said once he had decided to shift in behind runners in the early stages, the horse immediately appeared reluctant to stride out and to hold its position. He said he placed BEST FOR ALL under pressure prior to straightening, however, the horse failed to respond. He said following the race he had advised the connections in his opinion consideration should be given to adding blinkers to the gear in which BEST FOR ALL races. BEST FOR ALL and KINGSTON GLORY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BEST FOR ALL and KINGSTON GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. ADD THE FUN and PORTER RICKS were sent for sampling.
