Racing Incident Report

On jumping, DIAMOND CENTURY was bumped by STARDANE which was carried out by WINNING COUNTER which in turn was carried out by PAOBRIDGE which shifted ground on jumping, After this, PAOBRIDGE was slow to muster speed despite the efforts of its rider. CELEBRATION was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WINNING COUNTER was steadied when awkwardly placed between STARDANE and PAOBRIDGE. Throughout the race, BOBO WIN from the outside gate travelled wide and without cover. G Schofield (FLASHING STAR) said the horse had only had one previous start on the All Weather surface and that was a satisfactory performance. He said today he enjoyed a nice run throughout, however, after straightening FLASHING STAR failed to quicken, then over the concluding stages gave ground. He did point out FLASHING STAR is a horse which has shown itself to appreciate wet tracks, however, with the track today being sealed this might not have been to the horse's advantage. FLYING GENERAL and PAOBRIDGE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FLYING GENERAL after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, it was reported PAOBRIDGE had returned making an abnormal breathing noise. EXPECTATIONS and GREAT WIN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported DIAMOND CENTURY had bled from both nostrils.
