Racing Incident Report

As the start was effected, KIDDY SING lifted its front feet off the ground, bounded and as a consequence lost ground. COME HO CHOI began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SPEEDING MOLLY raced tight between SEASONS TREASURE and EVERGREEN which shifted in. Shortly after entering the Straight, KIDDY SING and SHABU SHABU bumped. Near the 150 Metres, SPEEDING MOLLY raced tight between SEASONS TREASURE and GOLCONDA which shifted in when giving ground. In this incident, SPEEDING MOLLY and SEASONS TREASURE bumped, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Also near the 150 Metres, FREEBIRD, which was giving ground, was steadied to avoid the heels of ARMONDO which was taken in by EVERGREEN which shifted ground whilst hanging in. Near the 100 Metres, SPEEDING MOLLY was steadied away from the heels of SEASONS TREASURE which shifted out slightly. Throughout the race, FREEBIRD raced three wide without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of VISIONNAIRE as compared with its last start when it finished 9¼ lengths from the winner FUJI SUNRISE, Trainer P O'Sullivan said the run prior to its last start at Happy Valley on 26 October 2005, the horse had run well to be beaten only 2½ lengths. He said at its last start he believed that the firmness of the Sha Tin track did not suit VISIONNAIRE and that the horse tonight had found the more forgiving Happy Valley track surface more to its liking. He did say at its last run, which was in his opinion a stronger race, VISIONNAIRE was ridden slightly more forward and he was of the belief that VISIONNAIRE was better suited when ridden back in the field as it was tonight. ASSET PLAY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ASSET PLAY after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ASSET PLAY, which finished tailed off, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, ASSET PLAY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VISIONNAIRE and EVERGREEN were sent for sampling.
