Racing Incident Report
SOLDIER ON began awkwardly and lost ground. A MIRROR was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WILD ACE lost ground when crowded for room between RICH FOR ALL and EXPRESS MAIL, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, from a wide gate, EXPRESS MAIL was taken back across runners. After the 1000 Metres, NOT QUITE PERFECT and FAST TRACK raced tight. After the 400 Metres, HAPPY GO LAGO was steadied away from the heels of EUPHORIC KID which at this time shifted out away from FAST TRACK. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, SOLDIER ON, which was commencing to close the race off, was steadied when disappointed for running between FAST TRACK and A MIRROR which shifted out. After this, SOLDIER ON was steadied and shifted wider. Near the 100 Metres, FAST TRACK and A MIRROR bumped when A MIRROR was carried wider by MUTUAL FUN. For some distance after this, A MIRROR was awkwardly placed outside the heels of MUTUAL FUN. For the major part of the race, MUTUAL FUN travelled wide and without cover. M W Leung (BUDDIES POWER) said it was anticipated NOBLE ZOOM would lead, he therefore should cross and race outside that horse if possible. He said if NOBLE ZOOM did not lead, it was acceptable for him to take up the running. He said in the early stages he allowed BUDDIES POWER to travel forward, cross to race outside NOBLE ZOOM and because the pace of the race was in his opinion satisfactory, he then steadied to remain racing outside that horse. MUTUAL FUN and MY LANSON were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MUTUAL FUN and MY LANSON after the race did not show any significant findings. WILD ACE and RICH FOR ALL were sent for sampling.
