Racing Incident Report
CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE was withdrawn on 19.1.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (stiff action in front) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WONG'S FAVOURITE (K S Yu). Before being allowed to race again, CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being boxed, WONG'S FAVOURITE became fractious, kicked out and momentarily had its right hind leg caught between the back gates of its stall. WONG'S FAVOURITE was removed from its stall, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was stiff in its right hind leg and as such was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WONG'S FAVOURITE. Before being allowed to race again, WONG'S FAVOURITE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, DOUBLE PLEASURE was bumped by PACIFIC ALLIANCE. After this, DOUBLE PLEASURE did not muster speed and was taken across behind runners. SUNNY RIVIERA was slow to begin. FOREVER RICHES began awkwardly and bumped with SPRING SMILES. After the 1400 Metres, CHINSOLA was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPACED. In the middle stages, SPACED was left racing without cover. On straightening, PACIFIC ALLIANCE was steadied and shifted to the inside of SPRING SMILES. Also on straightening, FANTASTIC GUY became unbalanced and was checked when disappointed for running between SUDDEN SPLENDOR which shifted in slightly and SPACED which when giving ground was carried wider by FOREVER RICHES. FANTASTIC GUY then continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running until the 250 Metres. In the early part of the Straight, CHINSOLA had difficulty obtaining clear running, then for some distance passing the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between DOUBLE PLEASURE which shifted out and SPACED which was continuing to give ground. No action was taken. Shortly after this, SPACED was steadied away from the heels of SUDDEN SPLENDOR. Over the concluding stages, SUNNY RIVIERA hung in. In the Straight, NAMJONG GOODLUCK hung out. CHINSOLA was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. DURABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHINSOLA and DURABLE after the race did not show any significant findings. SUNNY RIVIERA and FOREVER RICHES were sent for sampling.
