Racing Incident Report

Prior to the race, NORTHERN GOLD BALL had an adjustment made to its off side hind plate. C Williams (FINANCIAL SUPREME) was reminded of his obligation regarding the Marker Pole Instruction. NIGHT STAR missed the start, was then obliged to race wide and in the early stages proved difficult to settle and threw its head about. On jumping, CREAM shifted out and bumped MY CHIEF. About the 1000 Metres, EL VIENTO, which was pulling, got its head up, became unbalanced when awkward between NIGHT STAR and DR MORE which shifted out away from BEAS GLORY which itself shifted ground when avoiding the heels of CREAM which shifted in when only just clear. In the circumstances, no action was taken. About the 800 Metres, PREFECT broke down in the near side front leg and was pulled up. When PREFECT broke down, inconvenience was caused to BEAS GLORY, NIGHT STAR. DR MORE was severely checked, shifted out and this inconvenienced EL VIENTO which was obliged to race considerably wider. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of J Egan (MONEY WINS) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position, they did however advise J Egan he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible.
