Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the barriers, J Egan (NO MONEY NO HONEY) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that the horse had not worked down to the Start well. NO MONEY NO HONEY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was lame in its off side front leg and was not suitable to race. On this advice, NO MONEY NO HONEY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before racing again, NO MONEY NO HONEY will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. On jumping, HAPPY FOREVER threw its head about, then just after the start was checked by EASTERN MAGNATE which was hanging in. HIGH FIVE left the gates awkwardly with its head up and was then severely checked when EASTERN MAGNATE which on jumping shifted in abruptly. Then in the early stages, EASTERN MAGNATE hung in. Running to the first turn, I DELIVER became unbalanced when tight between EASTERN MAGNATE and BORN DRAGON. About the 1000 Metres, LOMOND'S FAY lost ground when unable to hold its position inside INDIAN ROAD which was taken in slightly by COURAGE STAR, then in the early part of the Straight LOMOND'S FAY became unbalanced and dipped. About the 600 Metres, INDIAN ROAD, which had been improving along the rail, bumped COURAGE STAR. Near the 500 Metres, INDIAN ROAD was unbalanced when momentarily awkward inside LOYAL DEVOTION. K S Yu (LOYAL DEVOTION) said the horse travelled satisfactorily in a forward position during the run, but in the Straight when he considered LOYAL DEVOTION was well beaten, he did not ride it out to the post as he normally would. W Woods (BORN DRAGON) said in the early stages he went forward and endeavoured to follow DR MORE. He said however near the 800 Metres BORN DRAGON appeared to become unbalanced in the ground, thereafter did not stretch out as it should, was well beaten a long way out and accordingly he did not ride BORN DRAGON to the finish in his normal fashion. Before being allowed to race again, BORN DRAGON will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. BORN DRAGON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
