Racing Incident Report
On leaving the Parade Ring, CITI CENTRE kicked out behind and made contact with a gate. After arriving at the Start, CITI CENTRE was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations he said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, Apprentice S K Sit (EASTERN TYCOON) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that on the way to the Start the horse had hit a rail in the area of its near side flank. The Veterinary Surgeon said he examined EASTERN TYCOON, had the horse trotted up and after the necessary consultations he said in his opinion it was suitable to race. ASIA STAR left the gates very awkwardly and bounded in the air. EASTERN TYCOON was slowly away. NEW DYNASTY came out very awkwardly, threw its head about and just after the start was awkward on the heels of SPEEDY CHAMPION. In the early stages, WINMARK proved difficult to settle. Also in the early stages, NEW DYNASTY had a tendency to get its head up when racing close to the heels of ASIA STAR. Rounding the Home Turn, STAR DRAGON was awkwardly placed between WAIALAE WIN and WINMARK which was giving ground. About the 400 Meters, STAR DRAGON was steadied and shifted to the inside of WINMARK to find running and go forward. About 100 Metres out, TRIPLE DRAGON, which was closing the race off quite well, was shifted out abruptly from behind SPEEDY CHAMPION to find running and go forward. When TRIPLE DRAGON shifted out, MILLENNIUM DAWN shifted away from it abruptly and bumped GOLDEN BELL which was giving ground. K H Ting (GOLDEN BELL) said before the race he was instructed by the trainer because of the outside gate to ride the horse forward. Over the concluding stages, GOLDEN BELL dropped out. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination and must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. LUCKY MASTER and GOLDEN BELL were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
