Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, DIVINE FEELING bounded in the air, then about the 600 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid BORN SMART which shifted in slightly. W C Marwing (DRAGON WIN) said recently he has only been giving the horse some slow work, but it was expected DRAGON WIN would be competitive in tonight's race. He said the horse left the gates awkwardly and threw its head about, but after this appeared most reluctant to stretch out. He pulled the whip very early on in an endeavour to encourage DRAGON WIN, but the horse failed to respond at any stage and was very disappointing. The performance of DRAGON WIN was considered by the Stewards to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. DRAGON WIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
